Crown Care: Protect Your Head

Do you know that soft spot on your head? It’s the place that’s always been soft since we came into the world as babies. Have you ever noticed how tender or sore to the touch it feels? When I talk of the Crown of the Head or the Crown Chakra, I speak of the Fontanelle; this soft spot. What better way to receive Divine Messages or energy then from the open spot on your head? If you are doubting my belief, place your left hand over your Fontanelle and breathe. What did you experience? When I make this connection, I feel a sense of relief in my head and overall peace. As you read further, you will discover many tools to care for and protect your head.

Telepaths, mind readers, migraine sufferers and the energetic sensitive; do you cover your head when you are overwhelmed? The practice of covering or wrapping the head works as a shield to protect the head from sensory as well as energetic overload. Across cultures the practice of covering or dressing the head has been ceremoniously and reverently done. On a day when you know you are going to be bombarded with large groups of people, cover your head with the intention of shielding your head from intrusive energies. When the day is over and you are home, remove your shield and allow yourself to feel if there is a difference without it.

Head Cleansing is a way of bringing your mind back to a place of energetic balance and grounding. The cleansing of the head is more than just shampoo and conditioner. The cleansing of the head should be done with intention to clear and cleanse the head of negativity as well as residual energy. I prefer herbal, plant based scrubs for my head cleansing; however, essential oils or tinctures work well too. Once you have washed your hair (if you have hair) and cleansed your head; be sure to feed your head. When I say feed your head I speak of anointing your head with a light oil. Preferably, I would use coconut oil, jojoba, or olive oil. This works as a seal to complete the practice of head cleansing as well as prepares you for what energies you will come across once you are out in the world.

A method of self care I like to call Energetic Contact is where you seclude yourself for 2-5 minutes to connect and heal with your body using touch, breathing and tuning into your body. For the Crown Chakra or Fontanelle, I like to do a light massage along the edges of the soft spot. The pressure I use is no heavier than that of a dime. Then I use the fingertips of my left hand to lightly connect with the soft spot of the fontanelle, with pressure no heavier than that of a dime. When I’m finished, I cover my head and complete my day or if time permits allow myself to relax laying on my back.

I hope this has encouraged you to care for your crown with more intention. Until next time, bless!
